We had a great chat with Jason Matthews, the founder of Jarrison Systems about the companies roots, product offerings and the future! Below is our interview.
We’ve just celebrated 19 years of Jarrison Systems. Congrats! Do you have a memorable story to share?
Thank you very much, it most certainly has been an adventurous and rewarding journey. One story that sticks out at the moment, is actually a humorous one.
I was driving to work one morning, listening to a radio show, where different people were calling in, sharing their stories of when they knew that they were in trouble at work. So I decided to test out these situations for myself. As I arrived at work, I approached a group of colleagues and said “Sorry to interrupt, but Nav… please can we have a chat in my office!”. I said it with the most serious face I could pull off at the time, and it definitely worked by the look on Nav’s face. Then I went in for my second one, and said “Please can you close the door behind you!”. By now the slightly worried look on his face turned into pure panic, and he carefully took a seat as I pointed to the chair. Somehow I was still maintaining my serous face, until I went for the 3rd one and said “There is no easy way to say this!”, and that’s when the trembling started. I couldn’t hold it in any more or bare to put Nav through any more stress, so I just packed up laughing and revealed that I was just joking with him. It took him a good 5 minutes to come around and start smiling again and at least 2 years before I could prank him again!
Jarrison Time has been constantly developed and enhanced since the beginning days. What have been the top 4 x major product milestones or features that were added, in your opinion, and what 1 x major enhancement is on its way and soon to be released?
The first milestone in my opinion, was our ability to cater for all medium and a few advanced customer requirements, enabling us to enter the market with a good name from day one.
The second milestone was our software being able to communicate directly to the hardware, this of course opened many more doors!
The third milestone, I would have to say, would be the ability for us to send automated reports via e-mail and SMS, which is now used widely across all our customers.
The 4th Milestone would probably be our JT Clock mobile solution, as many people can now clock while working from home or on the road, especially in our new world after the start of COVID 19.
How did Covid affect Jarrison Systems and how did you handle the request for new contactless biometrics and solutions?
I am proud to say that we managed to grow the business slightly during the pandemic. We have such a dynamic development team, that the new biometric technologies integration was no issue for us at all!
Looking ahead, what do you envisage for the next 20 years of Jarrison Systems?
I envisage and hope the next 20 years allows steady growth of Jarrison Systems staff and resellers, while continuing the same fantastic culture and dedication to our customers. I would also like to grow the international market end keep our support levels at the great standard they are at.
And for our final questions, if you had to summarise Jarrison Systems in 5 words – what would it be?
Professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, reliable and fun!
