We had the great pleasure of speaking with Aaron, one of our amazingly talented software testers at Jarrison Systems. We spoke about his work in charities and spicy ramen noodles.
Jarrison Systems isn’t as formal as other companies and encourages a family mentality which I enjoy because it’s a unique quality that isn’t often practiced.
AARON | Software Tester, Jarrison Systems

Just over 3 years
In which department(s) do you work?
Development
What do you do best at Jarrison Systems?
I break my boss’s software on a regular basis but it’s okay because I also help fix it.
What is your best memory of your first week at Jarrison Systems?
I’m not too sure if I should share this but here it goes. I remember being there unofficially for one of our awesome Friday events and just before speeches I needed to go the bathroom, unfortunately I was still in the bathroom when speeches started and all I heard from the old bathroom was everyone at Jarrison at the time screaming my name. It was the weirdest experience I’ve ever had but a moment that I’ll never forget!
Explain what it is like working for Jarrison Systems in one sentence.
A great balance of challenging yourself, constantly growing and destressing with like-minded people at the end of the week.
How is the culture at Jarrison Systems compared to any other companies?
Jarrison Systems isn’t as formal as other companies and encourages a family mentality which I enjoy because it’s a unique quality that isn’t often practiced.
What is the strangest thing that you like to eat?
I don’t think it’s that strange, but I love eating boiled eggs (with the yolk still runny) with my spicy ramen noodles.
Think of a moment that made you feel the proudest
After working remotely for a while then moving to Durban, I joined a pretty cool group that often donates and assists charities. I did feel really happy/proud of myself for doing that and joining them because it’s something that I wanted to do but was completely out of my comfort zone. Jarrison Systems did play a part in that for helping me get out of my comfort zone and teaching me to seize the moment.
Do you have any unusual hobbies?
This probably isn’t that unusual or an actual hobby but it’s definitely unusual for me, I like going on random drives with people close to me. Even if it’s just to the nearest McD’s for a McFlurry.
